Our team’s extensive experience handling vessels is unmatched, and we have mastered the skills required to operate any vessel in any condition. We want to share our skills, tips, and experiences to make you more comfortable at the helm, and a better seaman overall.

Docking / Close Quarter Maneuvering :
- Practice docking at end ties and berths.
-Learn how to utilize dock lines to depart from slips and docks.
- Understand “Prop-Walk” and take advantage of its effects.
- Optimize thrusters, and practice their usage in close quarters including when reversing.
- Learn how to use wind and currents to your advantage for easy docking.
Sailing Techniques:
- Master sail trimming.
- Practice sailing on different points of sail.
-Practice Reefing.
- Optimize tacking, jibing, and heaving-to.
Anchoring
- Practice proper anchoring procedures.
- Review scope lengths and best bottom types for anchoring.
-Learn tips for prepping your anchor and rhode for easy payouts.
- Review anchoring lights, and signals.
Yacht Systems
-Understand battery management and proper care.
- Review charts and marine electronic usage (Ray Marine, Simrad, B&G)
-Learn CG waste disposal rules, and proper holding tank care.
- Overview engine and generators for basic maintenance checks.
Rules Of The Road
- Understand procedures for meeting head on, overtaking, and crossing vessels.
- Review lights, horn signals, and signs for safe operation underway.
